When you live in a building that is old or new, it can catch on fire due to the wiring, an accident, or something else There can be so many floors in the buildings that if it were to catch on fire, it will be hard to get out of The fire can go from floor to floor and destroy everything, maybe even lives

There will be lots of smoke and fire coming out of the windows, and if you are caught inside the building you will get the smoke and toxins in your lungs, and it will be hard to breath Then you will have to be taken to the hospital for help and a breathing treatment

If the building catches on fire because of faulty wiring or an electrical fire due to plug-ins or water getting to any kind of cord, you may not know about it until it is too late and you are trapped inside If you have a fire due to water getting to the cords, you better pray that you are not on the floor when it happens because it will electrify you to death

Faulty wiring happens when someone put the wires in the wrong place or puts them together Don’t have someone mess with the fuse box if they are not a professional because it will be dangerous for every one in the building

If someone is smoking in the building, it can be very bad If a smoker throws his or her cigarette out the window, it could go back in someone else’s apartment because of the wind It can set their place on fire If you fall asleep and you have a smoke in your heads, it can fall on the floor and set your carpet on fire You wouldn’t even know it until you get burned or the smoke wakes you up, but sometime you may not wake up You might end up dead instead If you have a pet and it bites through the cord, it will electrify them and start what ever it is near it on fire Not only will you lose your pet but you will lose your home too

So make sure you check all the wiring and make sure your cords are off the floor so nothing will get to it, and it will make it safe for you and your family Or get a professional to look at it if it looks funny to you

A common piece of accent furniture, the sofa table was once thought of as a necessity The precursor of the modern coffee table, the development of the sofa table was tied to other significant changes in furniture design

Following most of the design conventions of the time, sofa table began to appear around the seventeen hundreds Sofas and settees were known for featuring a high, decorative back As the design of the sofa changed and the back was lowered, the availability of space intrigued furniture designers and spawned changes in how the average living was laid out

The hearth or fireplace was often the center and focus of a common room Chairs and sofas were typically located very near the hearth The purpose of course was to take advantage of the warmth of the fire and the light created Contrary to what most of us do today, the sofa or settee was not placed up against a wall Instead, the sofa piece was located in the center of the room or near the hearth

A number of different tables were once considered sofa tables and were loosely defined as any table used near the sofa The sofa table as we know it is found in the back of the sofa Usually quite long and narrow in width, the modern sofa table serves as more of a decorative piece Sofa tables come in many styles, from the contemporary to the baroque

Thought to originate during the late seventeen and early eighteen hundreds, the design of the sofa table was very intentional The upholstered sofa that we are familiar with today did not appear until the seventeen hundreds Prior to that period, the settee was the standard Characterized by an ornate wood frame, a settee would have upholstered seat and back, leaving the rest of the frame exposed I have no doubt that the availability of cloth drove the trend towards the minimal use of upholstered surfaces

Starting in the late eighteenth century, as the Industrial Revolution begin to pick up speed, fabrics weaving changed dramatically Fabric weaving moved quickly from a cottage industry to mass production As the cost for fabric dropped, new uses for it grew It was during this period that the fully upholstered couch began to replace the settee It is thought that the sofa table was designed specifically as an accompaniment to the upholstered sofa

The Pembroke table best epitomizes the early history of the sofa table Many table designs that we use today had their genesis in the Pembroke style A drop leaf section was a characteristic of the Pembroke style and could be a single leaf or two Another important feature distinguishes a Pembroke from other table designs A Pembroke is known to feature a drawer and often will have two drawers With the leaves in the down position, the table top takes on a rectangular shape With the leaves in the up position, a Pembroke table top will be more or less a square

The Pembroke served as a very practical piece of furniture and was far from merely a decorative table The leaf design was combined with a center pedestal configuration which facilitated a comfortable seating position The Pembroke could be stored against a wall, but the decorative look of the table often had it in the center of the room, or behind a sofa Locating the table behind the sofa provided a location for a lamp or just somewhere to set your teacup

Many modern sofa tables feature some aspect of the Pembroke including drawers and leaves The leaves on a sofa table are usually found in the table ends, and do not run the length of the table

Carpet drenched by floods may be damaged gravely, especially if it is sitting beneath still water for a prolonged period of time While the contaminated flood water stands in a location, the carpet on the flooring is soaking up the hazardous microorganisms from the water It is very essential that still flood water is withdrawn as quickly as possible from the inside of the residence Yet after the water is extracted, the carpet will be totally saturated

If the carpeting remains wet for long, it will develop a truly terrible scent This is initiated by the microorganisms and mold which has relocated from the flooding water to the carpeting The organisms start to decompose the carpeting strands and the decomposing mess stinks badly The real issues follow when the carpeting begins to dry out Mold can’t cultivate when the carpet is below service water but it can and will as soon as the carpeting starts to dry out causing the terrible aroma to get heavier It will not be simple to eliminate the mold if it takes hold in the carpet as bleaching agents will discolor the carpeting This will also undermine the threads of the carpeting so much that they might separate off at the littlest contact

A different thing that gets worsened as the carpet starts to dry out is the seeping and shifting of dye The colorant will turn soluble while it sits under water but can’t be displaced When the air reaches the dyed carpeting filaments and water particles begin to vaporize, the dye might disperse from one strand to others This might yield irregular circles of color in locations on the carpeting The carpet in its totality will lose enough color to have a washed out appearance

The silt and soil that has clung to the rug from the flood water will effect one more difficulty As these things commence to dry, they might bind to the carpet strands and dry to something resembling clay This contains bacteria and fungi which start to decompose the carpet filaments The mess is very arduous to take off when it gets to this point

The rug might diminish in size after it begins to dry It will have gotten swollen with all the water it had kept hold of when it was soaked This contracting can be an emergency enough to force the carpeting to rip away, particularly if the carpet is wall to wall mounted carpeting The finest way to prevent splitting is to release the carpeting all around the room which can cause much more service damage

There is very less prospects that the carpeting in a flooded house will be able to be reclaimed if the area has been smothered in a great quantity of water It will most probably need to be removed and replaced If there is any prospect of recovering the carpeting, hire a flood damage clean-up professional to do the work They will have the correct equipment and experience to dry out and wash the carpet It will need to be totally decontaminated Whenever workable it is prudent to just have the carpet taken away and replaced as this will insure that unsafe microbes are not existing in your habitation

The Bible Talks About Mold

Author : Jim Corkern

No matter where we are or what time we have lived in, mold has always been there to make us sick and to affect our property and belongings Insurance companies are quick to tell you that mold is not that much of a health threat and that it has been around longer than we humans have been, but this is just an argument they use so they do not have to pay your insurance claim

If your insurance claims adjuster comments that mold has been around for thousands of years and that it is not a real health threat, whatever you do, DO NOT agree with him Dispute it If you agree to anything he says and even remotely say that you might not have a claim, you will not have a claim and you will receive no benefits Be steadfast when filing your claim and if necessary, you can even cite the Holy Bible to show that mold has always been a health threat to human beings and their animals

Leviticus chapter 14:39-47 states that mold living in a building was not to be tolerated It blatantly calls the building “diseased” or “plagued”, depending on which version of the scripture that you read Rabbis were sent into the homes to inspect them and if they were found to be infected, the stones in the house that had mold on them were removed and taken to a landfill of sorts far away from the village

The house was sealed up for 7 days and after that, the rabbi came back to see if the mold infection returned If it did, all the building materials for the house were torn down and thrown into the same landfill the first stones were and it was rebuilt Any clothing that had been contaminated with mold was shown to the rabbi and if it was found to be infected, it also was taken to that landfill

Insurance companies can dispute the ill health effects of mold on the human and animal body as much as they want to, but the proof is there The Bible states that mold was considered a problem and a cause of disease in ancient times and we should consider it no less today If your landlord, insurance claims adjuster, or anyone else you are trying to make a claim with insists that mold poses no real threat to you or your family, disagree with them and get the money for the repairs or relocation that you deserve

Home Vegetable Gardening Growing Basil

Author : Bruce Tucker

My favorite combination for basil is mixing sliced juicy beefsteak tomatoes with quarter inch thick mozzarella cheese then shredding the fresh basil overtop of the two and finally pouring some extra virgin olive oil on top to bring it all together The basil really makes the entire dish “pop”

Basil loves to grow in the heat and any cooler temperatures especially frost could reduce your basil to near nothing Follow the steps in this article to learn how you can add this great herb, basil, to your home vegetable garden

If you plan on moving your basil plants outdoors as opposed to just growing them in containers or pots on your window sill, I recommend that you start them indoors about 4 weeks prior to last frost of the season in your area You can either use a portable greenhouse (called a humidity dome in some parts of the world) which is available from any home or garden center for less than $5 00 This will help the germination process for the basil seeds

When the temperature outside is above 75 degrees Fahrenheit then you are ready to move them outdoors If it gets a little cooler in the evenings don’t worry so as long as the temperatures do not fall below 50 If that occurs just cover the plants with plastic milk cartons by cutting the bottom of the cartons off

Space your plants out at least 4 inches in an area that receives full sun This will give their roots plenty of room to “spread” out and the required amount of sun they need to grow properly

Basil requires light watering and since it needs only low supplements of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium, chances are no extra fertilization will be required throughout the season so as long as you were adding quality compost to the soil prior to planting

When the leaves become large enough to use, they are ready to be harvested Using a pair of scissors, cut the leaves off right before you are about to use them to maximize the flavor you will receive

Maximize the space in your garden by planting basil in between your tomato and pepper plants Basil makes for good companions to these plants Avoid planting basil between or near beans, cabbage or cucumbers as basil and these plants do not work well together

As you can see it is easy to add some basil to your garden Once you get some going and are able to add fresh basil to your recipes at anytime, you will wonder why you never tried growing your own sooner
